Saturday, August 14th - Canemah Park Walk - Oregon City
10 / 6 km routes - rated 3; 4 km route - rated 1+
Walk on forest trail on the first of two loops into Canemah Park, a forested area with great views of the Willamette Falls and river. Much of the area is on sacred ground of the Native Americans where as many as 6,000 fished for salmon each year. About 1km of this loop is on a very rough trail with some hills. The walk will be on 7.5 miles of city streets that have been closed to motorize traffic, except for a few major street crossings. The walk will have a lot of activities, music, and food for walkers on the route, especially at Lents, Bloomington, and Ed Benedict Parks. We recommend mornings for walkers as the afternoons have a lot of bicycles. Read Event Brochure

The walk is on sidewalks and will take you through historic downtown Milwaukie, into Willamette Riverfront Parks, and past very nice neighborhoods. Milwaukie's dogwood trees and spring flowers will be in bloom. Last year several bald eagles were nesting along the river. On Sunday this year's Farmer's Market is scheduled to start.

Saturday, Jan 9th - GROUP WALK in Southeast Portland
Group will begin the walk at 9:00am so please arrive early enough to sign in beforehand so the walk can begin at 9:00 am. Leaders Judy D. and Joe T. will guide walkers on RCR's Reed College-Crystal Springs Garden walk (YR1192). The 5K is rated 1+; the 10K is rated 2+
