CENTRALIA, WA  DAY TRIP & GROUP WALK

4/4/2019

CENTRALIA, WA  DAY TRIP / TRAIN RIDE / GROUP WALK
DATE:  WEDNESDAY, JULY 17, 2019

To all walkers wanting to go to Centralia, WA for the walk:

You must purchase your own ticket.  You can get on at any Amtrak station and take the first train #500 in the morning.  It is scheduled to leave Vancouver at 8:38am.  Make sure it is Centralia, WASHINGTON.  It gave me Illinois the first time.  The sooner you buy you ticket the cheaper it is.  They have SAVER tickets going to Centralia this morning but have been sold out coming back since before January.  From Portland tickets are $18 for Saver, $24 for Value, $32 for Business and $42 for flexible.  The Saver, Value and Flexible all seat in the same area.  Business is separate.  The return is on #505 and scheduled to leave Centralia at 4:01pm.  No saver tickets for the return home as they have been sold out before January.

The last time we did this we had walkers getting on in Albany, Salem, Oregon City, Portland, Vancouver and Kelso.

We will be met by the Olympia Club at the Centralia station where we will register for the Walk.  We walk as a group.  After the walk most go to lunch at several different places.  In the afternoon you can shop (outlet stores - also Centralia has a lot of Antique stores), relax, go to Chehalis and do the walk there.  Meet back at the train station around 3:30 pm for the 4:01 train.

The Vancouver Station does have free parking, cheaper tickets and if driving to Portland you aren't fighting the rush traffic going home.
